For more than 30 years, owner and avid guitarist Darrell Pope has been playing, tweaking, repairing, and fine-tuning guitars and string instruments with a simple goal – helping musicians experience the joy of an instrument that plays just right. 
Since opening in 2024, The Village Luthier has worked on hundreds of instruments from Whidbey Island and beyond! Now, they’re bringing that craftsmanship to their new Freeland location, along with custom-built acoustic guitars!
With formal training at the American School of Lutherie and acoustic guitar-building study with renowned luthier Sergei de Jonge, you can bet there’s some serious craftsmanship happening behind those doors.
